Larry Smith is a writer, actor, podcaster, voiceover artist, game show host, visual artist, and (most importantly) a standup comedian. He’s headlined The Grove Comedy Club, The Lucky Cat Comedy & Events, Mason City Limits Comedy Club, The Zoo Bar in Lincoln, NE, and for Fox Valley Comedy, along with several other independent venues, rock clubs, and small theaters.
Larry is the creator and host of “Convince Me with Larry Smith” on NPRIllinois and The Front Row Network. He also cohosts another podcast, “Zig & Larry Ignore a Topic.”
He’s been on The Paul Bunyan Comedy Festival and SnoJam Comedy Festival, has been featured by Huffington Post, FOX Illinois, NPRIllinois, selected by The Illinois Times several years as one of their favorite comedians, featured in the book “America’s Best Bar Comics,” and was on Zanies Rosemont’s Tuesday Ten multiple times.
Reena Calm has called him a “one-of-a-kind talent that brings so much good energy to every stage” and “an amazing comic.” Chris Speyrer, owner of Mason City Limits says, “you make it look effortless up there,” and fellow comedian Andy Landgrebe described Larry’s act as “a calm walk through a forest of joy.”
An Update
Hey gang! For those that don’t know we recently relocated to Chicago! We’ve always wanted to live in this city and couldn’t be more excited. During the time of transition your old pal just didn’t take the time to put a lot of bookings together. Mostly because I didn’t want to get moved in and then just tell the missus to kick rocks, imma go tell teehees! I’ve got a few things on the books now for 2025, but would love more.
